Stronger Together: Reclaiming Vitality, Balance & Strength After 60

Join Yossi (71) and Marina (63) for an Exclusive, Local Chabad Pilot Program Built for Longevity, Functional Independence, and Active Community Living.

"Shmirat HaGuf" — Safeguarding the Body You Were Given

Taking care of our physical health is not about vanity or "bodybuilding"—it is a vital Torah principle. True strength after 60 is about Freedom:

  • Freedom from Dependency: Carrying your own heavy groceries, lifting Seforim or heavy items, and reaching top shelves effortlessly.
  • Freedom from Fear: Walking confidently on uneven ground, stairs, or icy sidewalks without the constant worry of a trip or fall.
  • Freedom of Movement: Waking up without the morning stiffness that makes you feel older than you are.
  • Freedom to Enjoy Family: Having the stamina to dance at Simchas and play on the floor with your grandchildren without needing a hand to stand back up.

Do You Know the Hidden Physical Shifts After 60?

  1. The Silent Thief: Sarcopenia & Power Loss Did you know that after age 60, we naturally lose up to 3% of our muscle power every single year? It’s a condition called Sarcopenia. But the good news is simple: this process isn't just preventable—it is completely reversible.
  2. The Secret to Staying Steady One in four seniors falls every year. Most people assume falls are just "part of getting older," but they actually stem from declining core strength and delayed reflexes. By training your body as an integrated unit, you build an internal "stabilization system" that keeps you upright and secure on your feet.
  3. The "Stamina Gap" Feeling constantly tired is often just your heart and lungs losing efficiency. Improving your cardiovascular health means you won’t just survive a walk to Shul—you’ll have the energy to thrive all day long.

Why the Kettlebell?

Activities like walking or cycling are great for health, but they do not stop muscle loss or build core balance. Enter the kettlebell.

Because of its unique off-center design, a single kettlebell trains strength, cardio, balance, and joint mobility simultaneously.

It mimics real-world movements, giving you maximum physical returns in a joint-friendly, highly efficient format.

Best of all, it requires zero commute. After learning proper form together in person, you can train safely in the comfort and privacy of your home.

How the Chabad Pilot Cohort Works

We are forming a small, intimate pilot group of 8 to 10 community members to train together and test our specialized hybrid model.

Weekly Live Group Session: We meet once a week (e.g., Monday evening) at Chabad for hands-on coaching, form correction, and community connection.

At-Home Guided Training: 2 additional 30-minute sessions per week done at your own convenience at home using a user-friendly app on your phone (Everfit).

Dynamic Weekly Schedule: 3 days of kettlebell strength + 2 light mobility/active recovery days + total rest on Shabbat/weekends.

Low-Cost Kettlebells: You only need 1 light kettlebell to start ($30–$40 on Amazon). As you progress over the months, you will eventually build a simple 3-bell set (light, moderate, heavy) for your home.

Community Pricing: The cost is a voluntary $15–$20 monthly. $10 covers the personal app software fee, and the remainder goes directly as a donation to Chabad.

Safety First: Every participant will complete a formal health assessment (PAR-Q+) and physical screening before lifting their first weight to ensure complete medical safety.
